Green light for hundreds of local transport improvements

Ministers this week gave the go-ahead to hundreds of local transport schemes across England in growth deals struck with Local Enterprise Partnerships. 

About £1.8bn of Local Growth Fund cash will be allocated to over 200 transport projects starting in 2015/16. Provisional funding of £1.3bn has been awarded to a further 120 schemes that could start from 2016/17 onwards.
