TAG and TPS oppose Government plans to curb parking standards

Government plans to rein back the use of maximum parking standards for new developments will undermine efforts to support sustainable transport, the Transport Planning Society (TPS) and The Local Government Technical Advisers Group (TAG) have both warned.

The groups were responding to the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) consultation, which suggests that the maximum standards have restricted house builders from providing homes with parking spaces that families need.
