SYPTE grapples with further £6m funding cut

Councils in South Yorkshire are demanding a further huge cut to the Passenger Transport Executive’s budget next year as they themselves grapple with funding pressures.

SYPTE has seen its budget cut 25% since 2010/11 and the districts of Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster and Barnsley have asked for a 10% cut – £7.6m –  to the transport levy next year.
