In its investigation into smartcard ticketing (‘Pteg gives thumbs-down to bus operators’ smart ticket initiative’ LTT 20 Feb), Pteg could have also considered the situation in Greater Nottingham. Here, in a city with a population of about 400,000 (about 5% the size of London), we have no less than four smartcard ticket systems.
