London mayor Boris Johnson has approved £29m for a project to improve rail services between Stratford and the Upper Lee Valley.
The funding will help pay for a third track on the line between Angel Road, Tottenham Hale and Stratford, facilitating a four train per hour service between Stratford and Angel Road. The stations are currently only linked at peak-hours and even then only at roughly hourly intervals.
The GLA wants the project delivered by March 2018.
