The owners of the M6 Toll in the West Midlands are to put the asset up for sale. The decision has prompted calls for the Government to buy the road and maximise its congestion-relief benefits to the conurbation.

Midland Expressway Ltd holds the concession to design, build, operate and maintain the 27 miles of road between Cannock and Coleshill. The concession ends in 2054, when the road will be handed to the Government.
