Wales voices fears for cross-border rail links

Welsh Assembly members have called for better cross-border transport relationships after hearing that devolution of English government and Network Rail could result in greater parochialism.

The issue was raised by witnesses in a rail inquiry held by the Welsh Assembly’s enterprise and business committee. 

The North Wales Economic Ambition Board (NWEAB), representing councils and businesses, said Network Rail’s Wales route did not coincide with the region’s rail traffic...
