Phil Verster has been appointed managing director of the Government’s East West Rail project to build a railway between Oxford and Cambridge. He will report to recently appointed project chair Rob Brighouse. Verster was managing director of the ScotRail Alliance, the ‘deep alliance’ between Network Rail and ScotRail franchise holder Abellio.
