TIF cash earmarked for new Scots road

Tax Increment Financing (TIF) could part-fund a £32m road improvement in central Scotland. 

The A801 Avon Gorge project comprises a 3.2km road and bridge over the River Avon, on the boundary of Falkirk and West Lothian councils. 

The A801 connects the M9 Edinburgh-Stirling motorway at junction 4 near Grangemouth with the M8 Edinburgh-Glasgow motorway at junction 4 south of Bathgate. The road carries about 10,000 vehicles a day, of which about 15% are HGVs.
