Many local authorities could lose out in the competition for what remains of the DfT’s £475m Large Local Major Transport Schemes Fund, with bids likely to far exceed available resources.
The fund was announced in the 2016 Budget, with £475m available between 2016/17 and 2020/21. Over half the funding has already been awarded, however, with only about £213m still to be awarded.
