Bus passenger levels have fallen to 10-year low, says LGA

The number of people using buses in England has dropped to its lowest level in a decade, according to new figures from the Local Government Association (LGA). It reports that passenger journeys in 2016-17 dropped to 4.44 billion, which is 70 million fewer journeys than the previous year. 

Buses in England travelled 1.1% fewer miles in the same period, which was largely due to councils being forced to cut funding for supported services, said LGA.
