GM leaders reject concessions charge

Greater Manchester Combined Authority has rejected a plan to introduce a £12 annual charge for resident concessionary passholders wanting unlimited travel on Metrolink and local rail services. The local concession is currently free to all residents but Transport for Greater Manchester said a charge would raise £1.5m a year. Political leaders rejected the plan. The transport levy paid by the ten districts will remain unchanged next year at £195.1m....
