Leicestershire County Council will cut £400,000 from its budget for supporting bus services while allocating the same amount to mitigating the impacts of HS2 construction in the county.

The council spends about £2.3m a year on supporting passenger transport, and says some services receive £17 of subsidy per passenger journey. Last week the cabinet agreed to adopt a draft Passenger Transport Policy and Strategy (PTPS), which will save about £400,000 a year, as required...
