Campaign group’s criticism of 20mph report is ill-informed

I write in response to the criticisms by campaign group 20’s Plenty for Us of consultant Atkins’ report for the DfT on the effectiveness of 20mph speed limits (Letters LTT 14 Dec 18). 

Whilst their disappointment that the study found no significant reduction in casualties is perhaps understandable, it is no excuse for some of the badly-informed and misleading statements made by 20’s Plenty for Us about supposed weaknesses of the study’s methodology.
