Factors behind bus decline studied

Eighty-five million fewer bus journeys were made in England in 2017/18 than in 2016/17, according to DfT statistics just released. The 1.9 per cent reduction took total passenger numbers down to 4.36 billion. 

Passenger journeys outside London fell 3.2 per cent and journeys in the capital fell 0.7 per cent. Bus mileage declined 3.4 per cent.
