WECA finds more cash to keep MetroWest rail plans on track

The West of England Combined Authority (WECA)  has approved the release of £3.5m to help fill an £11m funding gap in the MetroWest phase 2 project that will boost local rail services.

MetroWest phase 2 will deliver passenger rail services between Bristol Temple Meads and Henbury on the Bristol/South Gloucestershire boundary. Henbury lies on a freight-only line to Avonmouth docks.
