Councillors in Birmingham have approved final details of mitigation measures to support the city’s Class D clean air zone (CAZ), which is due to be implemented this summer. 

The CAZ will cover the area within the city’s ring road and should go live in July (LTT 21 Jun 19). A daily charge of £8 will apply to non-compliant cars, taxis, light goods vehicles and minibuses, and £50 for HGVs, buses and coaches.
