Jeremy Pocklington has been appointed the permanent secretary at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), succeeding Dame Melanie Dawes who left the civil service in February. Pocklington became MHCLG’s director general for housing in August 2018. Before that he was director general for energy and security at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
