Two new pedestrian crossing designs are to be trialled in Liverpool and Hull in an experiment backed by the DfT.

The puffin crossings will feature psychological prompts to encourage pedestrians to use them. One design will be trialled in the city centre, at a location where people on nights out account for a high proportion of casualties. The other design will be trialled on a busy high street.
