Passenger watchdog Transport Focus wants the Government to fund a cut-price deal to tempt people back on to trains.
It recommends the Government funds a ‘Head out to help out’ cheap train fare initiative, modelled on the Treasury’s ‘East out to help out’ scheme. This is part-funding peoples’ meals in restaurants on Mondays to Wednesdays during August.
