Portsmouth City Council has ruled out omitting the Isle of Wight ferry terminal from the city’s proposed charging clean air zone (CAZ), even though a route to the terminal  avoiding the CAZ would be practical.  

Portsmouth is under a Government direction to introduce a Class B CAZ to bring nitrogen dioxide concentrations down to within legal limit values by 2022. Monitoring has identified two locations of exceedance: the A3 Alfred Road and the A3 Commercial Road. Implementation...
