Transport for the North is likely to have to cut staff numbers after the Government announced a big cut to its grant. 

The DfT informed TfN on 4 January that its core budget for 2021/22 was likely to be £6m, down from the £10m it was originally promised for 2020/21. 

The DfT also indicated a proposed £3m in-year budget cut, reducing the 2020/21 allocation to £7m.
