The Sheffield City Region Combined Authority is setting aside £7m of reserves in 2021/22 to help cover the possibility that the DfT’s Covid-19 bus funding is insufficient to deliver all priority services.
Irrespective of how the Covid-19 pandemic plays out, the combined authority does not expect bus patronage to recover beyond 80 per cent of pre-Covid levels in 2021/22.
