TfL’s fares income down by 66%

Passenger income on Transport for London public transport services in 2020/21 is running 66 per cent below 2019/20 levels because of Covid-19, TfL has reported.

Financial results for the period 1 April 2020 to 12 December show public transport revenue of £1.157bn compared with £3.416bn in the corresponding period of 2019/20.

Tube revenue was down 76 per cent: £482m versus £1.980bn. Tube patronage in mid-January was about 15 per cent of levels seen in mid-January...
