Liverpool City Council has rejected requests for bus access through a proposed pedestrian priority area in front of Liverpool Lime Street station. 

The council plans to turn the four-lane Lime Street into a pedestrian priority area between Elliot Street and St Georges Place.  A single narrow traffic lane will be retained to provide access to the St Johns Shopping Centre car park.
