Khan’s pledges for a second term

London: Labour’s Sadiq Khan is trying to win a second term, with the Conservative’s Shaun Bailey likely to be his closest rival. In 2016 Khan won 44.2 per cent of first round votes and the Conservatives’ Zac Goldsmith 35 per cent. The Green’s Siân Berry came third (5.8 per cent) and the Liberal Democrats’ Caroline Pidgeon fourth (4.6 per cent). If no candidate receives more than 50 per cent of the vote, the top two candidates receive the second preference votes from their eliminated opponent

Ensuring London’s economy recovers from Covid-19 and accelerating decarbonisation are two major themes in Sadiq Khan’s manifesto.
