The Welsh Government has earmarked £60m a year to help bus operators transition to zero-emission fleets, but the funding will not commence until 2023/24.

News of the funding emerged after a survey of buses in Port Talbot, which suffers some the worst air pollution in the UK, revealed that some vehicles on local town services are 17 years old, pre-dating even the Euro IV diesel engine emissions standards.
