Big funding boost for cycle network and active travel in Scotland

Commitments announced by the Scottish Government last month include increasing the direct funding to local authorities for cycling, walking and safer routes from almost £24m to £35m for 2022/23, and more than doubling National Cycle Network funding this financial year to £10m. 

A new £1.5m paths fund, managed by Paths for All, is named in memory of Ian Findlay, the Paths for All chief officer who died last year.
