Leicester City Council is to press ahead with its ambitious bus partnership plans despite missing out on Government funding earlier this month (LTT 8 April). As part of the National Bus Strategy, the DfT awarded funding to 31 local transport authorities. Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) bids from England’s other 48 LTAs were unsuccessful, among them Leicester which had hoped to receive £41m.
