Concerns about bus network planning when Wales moves to universal bus franchising were assuaged at a meeting between local government and Transport for Wales representatives last week, according to an inside source. However, there is some expectation that resources will not be sufficient to make major improvements to services and that franchising is primarily a method of giving the Welsh Government more control over its funding for bus services.
