Shapps hints he may turn to agency workers as RMT plans strike action

Members of rail union RMT are set to stage three days of industrial action later this month after talks with Network Rail and train operating companies broke down.

RMT said it had not been able to secure a pay proposal nor a guarantee of no compulsory redundancies. 

Last month members of the union voted overwhelmingly for industrial action in a dispute over pay, job security and safety (LTT 30 May).
