TfW Rail had recovered 95% of its revenue by May and its inter-urban revenue was even higher, at 99% of pre-pandemic levels, it has emerged.

Revenue has recovered faster than passenger numbers, indicating that the reduction in season ticket holders, paying small amounts per journey, is outweighed by the strong demand for longer distance travel. TfW Rail also found that revenue increased during the half-price ticket sale in the spring.
