Work has begun to improve Clapham Junction station, with the first of three phases starting with a £35m project to refurbish 10 lifts and the roll out passenger Wi-Fi. There will also be the deep cleaning and painting of entrances, with additional lighting installed, and painting of the overbridge and waiting rooms.
In phases 2 and 3 staircases will be replaced with wider and safer staircases and most of the station’s passenger information systems will be replaced including new information screens, CCTV and announcement system.
