Increased investment in small-scale local improvements to tackle known congestion hotspots and support economic growth is claimed by National Highways to be a core feature of its outline proposals for the 2025-2030 Road Improvement Strategy (RIS3). It will also include a safety drive to target single carriageway A-roads and support for installation of 2,500 new rapid electric vehicle chargers on the strategic road network of England’s motorways and major A-roads.
