The Welsh Government will consult on new road safety targets this summer, three years after the previous targets expired.
The most recent Welsh road safety statistics a 6.1% increase in fatalities in 2022, from 2021, and a 1.1% increase in personal injury collisions classed as serious. However, there was also an increase in traffic volume in 2022 as people’s lives returned to normal following the Covid-19 pandemic.
