Government sets out path to zero-emission vehicles by 2035

Department for Transport publishes ZEV mandate

The UK government has set out the percentage of new zero-emission cars manufacturers will be required to produce each year up to 2030, following prime minister Rishi Sunak’s recent decision to delay the ban on new diesel and petrol cars from 2030 to 2035.

With transport providing the largest share of the UK’s carbon emissions, it is widely accepted that a switch to zero-emission cars and vans will be the single biggest carbon saving measure in the UK’s journey to net zero.
