Lack of patronage closes ArrivaClick DRT in Watford after £1.5m spent

The ArrivaClick demand responsive service in Watford came to an end on 31 December, before the end of its four-year contract, with insufficient patronage and an exhausted subsidy budget given as the reason.

It is understood that around £1,533,996 has been spent on providing the service over the past three and a half years. The average subsidy of £17.36 per passenger reflects the extremely low usage levels, well beneath forecast projections.
