Uber has been increasingly promoting partnerships with public transport operators to expand its offer beyond the original private hire car service. It launched a major promotion of its offer of train information and to book rail journeys in the UK last autumn (see LTT881, 28 Nov 2023), offers coach ticket sales, and has a sponsorship deal with the main commuter boat operator on the river Thames.
The West Midlands bus ticket arrangement is its first such scheme in the UK.
