Aberdeen city councillors have opted to introduce new 20mph limits by using permanent Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) for residential streets and Temporary TROs for roads which meet the Scottish Government’s “place criteria”. TTROs will also be used for 20mph limits on linking sections of roads, where this would encourage a more consistent speed reduction across a wider area.
