Work starts on new Nottinghamshire events space and car park

Work has begun on transformation of derelict land in Ashfield into an event and market space served by a surface car park.

Ashfield District Council plan to create a flexible outdoor space that links pedestrians from ASDA to the town centre, and can accommodate markets and events.

The Fox Street site in Sutton located behind a branch of Lloyds Bank and what is a currently a disused wasteland.

The works will see a 41-space car park created with new lighting, CCTV and native trees and hedging...
