The Royal Borough of Greenwich is recruiting three new senior directors to help shape its Transport Strategy. This is linked to the council’s Carbon Neutral Plan and the corporate Our Greenwich Plan, as part of transformational work that has been rolled out over the past two years.
The council is seeking staff for three new senior roles - Head of Parking, Head of Highways and Traffic and Head of Programmes and Public Realm.
Ryan Nibbs, the council’s Assistant Director – Transport, Communities, Environment and Central, told LTT: “There are a number of projects in the pipeline that we’ve been working on to deliver a step change in the borough. We have a number of cycle routes, Healthy School Streets, 20mph zones and Sustainable Street projects, which we will be engaging with communities on very soon.”
He is working alongside Mirsad Bakalovic, Director of Communities, Environment and Central, who has worked at a number of local authorities in the parking and transport sector.
Nibbs said: “We set out a vision for the Transport division in early 2022, which is really taking shape. With our Cabinet Member for Transport and Environment Councillor Averil Lekau, and the Leader Cllr Anthony Okereke, strong leadership and decision making has got us to this point.”
