Chancellor Rachel Reeves has voiced her support for the proposed Lower Thames Crossing (LTC). The £10bn scheme would involve a 2.6-mile tunnel under the Thames, 14.3 miles of new road connecting the M2/A2, A13 and M25 and around 50 new bridges and viaducts. The crossing would improve connectivity at Port of Tilbury and Dover, London Gateway and Medway, and “alleviate severe congestion”, said Reeves.
