UK has over 73,000 public chargepoints

Latest official figures reveals London has lion's share of chargers as geographical distribution of devices remains uneven

There are now over 73,300 public electric chargepoint devices across the UK, reports the Department for Transport.

Most of the provision of this infrastructure has been market-led, with individual charging networks and other businesses, such as hotels, choosing where to install devices. While some local authorities have bid for government funding for charging devices, the department notes that others have not.
