Cornwall spent £18k on new parking machines

Cornwall Council has spent £18,000 replacing payment machines in Truro after five years of use.

A Freedom of Information (FOI) request has revealed the council replaced pay-on-foot systems with pay and display machines in three Truro city centre car parks in 2024.

The FOI request revealed £18,000 was spent to install the new machines, but the council did not say how much the original charging systems cost or how much it cost to remove them.
