Bus re-regulation should be a key element of climate change policy

Your excellent article on the recent report from the Environmental Audit Committee into reducing carbon emissions from transport (LTT 10 Aug) failed to cover what pteg believes is the most crucial element of the committee's findings. That is, the committee referred directly to the inadequate arrangements for bus services outside London, stating that these "are also undermining climate change policy [and] should be the final straw for the deregulated system in its current form".
