Businesses could be losing out on productive staff time and increasing their costs by not encouraging employees to travel by train for business journeys, according to research commissioned by Virgin Trains from Napier University's Transport Research Institute.
TRI has estimated that the time a business traveller spends working while travelling on a train more than offsets the cost of the train ticket and is significantly less expensive than the equivalent journey by car.
