There is periodic interest in a rather simple proposition that always strikes a chord with anybody who hears it and is potentially extremely useful, but has remained on the fringe of theory and practice for years. This is the proposition that people who are undergoing some important ‘life-event’ are more likely to be receptive to changing their travel behaviour than those whose lives are stable and uninterrupted.
