Who’s next?

After little more than a year in her post as transport secretary, Ruth Kelly this week announced her decision to step down. The press has speculated that she may have jumped before she was pushed. However, Kelly maintains that she simply wants to spent more time with her husband and four children, and while she didn’t say it, perhaps a little less time with Steve Clayton, who has been representing the bus industry in intensive negotiations over the Local Transport Bill.
