Lockhead almost started own bus company

Sir Moir Lockhead toyed with the idea of buying a few buses and setting up his own bus company prior to the deregulation of the UK bus industry in the mid-1980s. Instead he joined Aberdeen’s council-owned bus company GRT as general manager, a decision that eventually saw him lead the formation and development of First Group.
