Virgin Trains is intending to launch a new service to compete with open access operator Wrexham & Shropshire’s London-Shrewsbury route, despite W&S announcing that it will be cutting some services due to low demand.
From March 9, one of the company’s five daily London Marylebone-Wrexham return services will be axed and the Wrexham-Shrewsbury leg of a further return service will also be cut.
